Golden Heart Wedding Stationery at The Paperie

16 Feb

Following the amazing success of their Luxury Gold Wedding Planner, K Two Products have revamped the product with a new Golden Heart design, and added matching items to satisfy any bride’s organisation needs.

The Wedding Planner (RRP – £19.95p) has a contemporary design with a large gold heart set on a cream cover, with linen edge binding.  This step-by-step Planner has been designed to provide a comprehensive approach to organising a wedding. With pages of lists, prompts and ideas, nothing can possibly be forgotten! Filled with pockets for storing clippings, costs and brochures, a fold-out undated month-by-month calendar for planning ahead and much more, this book will become an essential working reference right up to the special day itself! There is space at the back of the Planner to hold the optional Sticky Notes.

The handy set of Sticky Notes (RRP – £5.50p) matches the Golden Hearts Wedding Planner, and the 200+ sticky notes supplied in the set are great for highlighting pages or as reminders. They can be slotted into the back of the Wedding Planner to keep them close to hand. This is a fantastically useful addition to an already great product!

The matching Storage Folder (RRP – £4.95p) is a great idea for keeping all your wedding paperwork together and organised.  Think of all those  quotations, magazine pullouts and lots of notes that you will amass while planning your wedding, so why not keep them all together in this beautifully designed folder where they will be close to hand.

On the day of your wedding you will want a stylish Guest Book (RRP – £12.95p) to hand to gather messages from your friends and relatives, then treasure as a lovely memento from everyone who helped to celebrate your special day.  Your guests will enjoy adding their remarks and you’ll have fun afterwards reading their comments!

Finally, to complete this beautiful new collection,  there is a matching Wedding Photo Album and Keepsake Box (RRP – £17.95p.) With a luxury linen spine, thick acid-free pages and vellum interleaves, this beautiful photograph album will set off your photos to perfection.  Use the box to house the album or store other keepsakes for a special reminder of the big day.

All these lovely products are available immediately from stock, with orders over £5.00 having free p&p (UK addresses only.)

The Paperie has ‘bundled’ the Wedding Planner, Storage File and Sticky Notes together as a Gift Set costing £27.50, an attractive saving from RRP. This makes a lovely and fitting gift to the newly-engaged couple and will ensure the bride-to-be (or her mum – she will want one too!) is organised for her big day.

Changing nibs on Lamy Fountain Pens

12 Feb

It’s ages since we first published this, and lately we’ve had several people call us and ask how to change nibs on Lamy pens, so here’s an updated version of our original post.

This is really quite easy, and there are two ways to do this – both work OK, so its whichever you find easiest!

Using Sellotape

  • Remove the cartridge and wash and dry the nib unit.
  • Take a piece of Sellotape 2-3 inches long and stick it across the nib, at right-angles to the pen, with the middle of the piece of tape on the top of the nib. Make sure the tape only sticks to the nib, not any other part of the pen.
  • Hold the pen in your left hand with the nib horizontal and facing to the right and the tape hanging down either side.
  • Put your right index finger under the nib and wind the tape around that finger by using your thumb and middle finger.
  • Pull the tape away from the pen, using your finger, applying gentle downwards pressure to ensure the tape stays stuck to the nib. The tape will grip the nib and slide it off the nib holder (the black plastic part).
  • Slide the replacement nib on carefully, making sure it goes all the way to the end (it will be quite stiff but you shouldn’t use any tool).
  • If the nib and feed come out together, don’t worry, just continue to remove the nib before replacing the feed in the barrel of the pen. When replacing the feed, line up the barrel with the two guide slots.

Using the cap of your pen

  • Remove the cartridge and wash and dry the nib unit.
  • Turn your pen upside down on the edge of a desk so the top part of the nib is flat on the very edge of the desk.
  • Press the end of the cap on the tip of the nib, and press down just enough to hold the nib in place on the desk edge.
  • Pull the pen gently away to leave the nib on the desk edge, held down by the cap.

Note that when you start writing with the new nib, the pen might write a little ‘watery’ to start with – don’t worry, this is due to water in the nib unit from when you washed it – it will write normally in a few seconds. Also, if you are removing a calligraphy nib, this needs more pressure to hold the nib, as calligraphy nibs do not have a ‘tip’ like other nibs.

If in doubt, pop the pen and nib back to us at The Paperie, and we will gladly change the nib for you!

Remember that Lamy pens (other than calligraphy models) are generally supplied with either a medium or fine nib.  We can supply spare nibs in Fine, Broad, Left Hand, or 1.1mm or 1.5mm Italic. To buy nibs and other pen and pencil accessories, please click here.
